I have a general rule for wellness which means I get to treat myself on occasion. With that, why not try something that's more beneficial to your health than the regular old sugary cocktails at a bar? Let's call this specialty cocktail a "Thriving Whisky Sour" as it's easy on the gut. Ingredients: 2 oz whiskey 1 oz fresh lemon juice 1 oz honey syrup (made by mixing equal parts honey and warm water) 1/2 oz fresh ginger juice (you can grate fresh ginger and squeeze out the juice, or use a juicer) A dash of bitters (optional) Ice Lemon peel or slice, for garnish Instructions: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the whiskey, lemon juice, honey syrup, ginger juice, and bitters (if using). Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to combine and chill. Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lemon peel or slice. This cocktail is easy on the gut because it uses fresh, natural ingredients like lemon juice and ginger juice that have anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe the digestive system. Honey syrup is a natural sweetener that can help promote the growth of good gut bacteria. And of course, whiskey is a prebiotic that can help feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut. Enjoy! ❤️
